Lenore wurde am 25. Oktober 1958 in Sydney (Balmain) geboren. Sie hat eine jüngere Schwester und einen jüngeren Bruder, und entschied sich zunächst für ein Studium der Wirtschaftskunde. Mit 17 Jahren belegte sie aber einen Schauspielkurs bei den “Sydney Ensemble Studios”. Nach 2 ½ Jahren bekam sie 1977 sofort eine Rolle in der Serie “The restless years” als Diane Archer. Sie spielte diese Rolle von 1978 bis März 1980. Es folgten andere Rollen, Gastrollen und  sie spielte auch am Theater.

1984 wurde sie für die Rolle der Schwester Kate Wellings in der Serie “Die fliegenden Ärzte” engagiert. Zu dieser Zeit war sie gerade in London und arbeite- te dort als Kellnerin. Die Rolle der Schwester Kate spielte Lenore Smith bis zum Ende der Serie 1991. Lenore bekam einige Preise, 1987 den Pinguin Award für Commendation, 1988 als beste Schauspielerin und 1990 eine Nomination für den Silver Logie Award. 1992 erhielt sie in den Niederlanden den Silver Tulip Award für ihre Rolle in der Serie “Die fliegenden  Ärzte”. Im März 1995 kam Lenore zu einer Benefiz-Veranstaltung in Bielefeld  zusammen mit Lewis Fitz- Gerald, dem ersten Piloten in der Serie “The Flying Doctors”.

Lenore war dreimal verheiratet. Das erste Mal mit Gary Sweet, der als Gast in der Folge “Geheimnis um Mikey” zu sehen war, oder in den Serien “Big Sky”  und “Police Rescue”. Danach folgte die Ehe mit dem Schauspieler Matt Kay, der in der Folge “Die London-Sydney-Rallye” eine Gastrolle spielte. Eine Partnerschaft ohne Trauschein mit Christopher Stollery, dem letzten Piloten in der Serie “Die fliegenden Ärzte”, war von kurzer Dauer. 1997 wagte Lenore den Schritt noch einmal und heiratete am 19. Oktober den australischen Schauspieler Warren Jones.

Lenore ist, wie ihr Mann Warren, ein Fan von gutem Essen und kocht auch leidenschaftlich gern. Sie moderierte 1997 im australischen Fernsehen eine Lifestyle-Show übers Essen. Sie legt besonderen Wert auf gesundes Essen und Käse. In ihrer Freizeit liest sie gerne, macht Handarbeiten und näht. Sie sagt, dass man am Set oft warten muss und die Zeit vertreibt sie sich mit Stickereien.

Die letzte größere Rolle hatte Lenore Smith 1997 in der Serie “Spellbinder: Land of the Dragon Lord”, in der sie mit Peter O’Brien, dem Piloten und Emma´s Ehemann in der Serie “Die fliegenden Ärzte”, als Vicky Morgan zusammen spielt. Die Dreharbeiten wurden in China gemacht und dauerten drei Monate. 1998 war Lenore mit ihrem Ehemann Warren mit dem Stück “The Perfectionist” auf Theatertournee, weshalb sie eine Gastrolle bei “All Saints” hatte sausen lassen. 2001 stand Lenore als Reggie´s Mother in mehreren Episoden in “Outriders” vor der Kamera und in “The man who sued  god” als Reporterin zu sehen. Auch in der Serie “Farscape” hatte sie 2002 als Lt. Darinta Larell in der Ep. “Into the lions” eine Rolle. 2010 steht Lenore in “Brooklyn Boy” am Ensemble Theatre in Sydney wieder auf der Bühne.

2012 stand Lenore in dem Theaterstück "When Dad married Fury" auf der Bühne. Sie spielte die Rolle der Sue und an ihrer Seiter als Ihr Ehemann war ihr Ehemann Warren Jones zu sehen.

Lenore was born in Sydney (Balmain) on October 25th, 1958. She has a younger sister and a younger brother. At first she decided in favour of studies of the eco- nomy news. She would "The Flying Doctors" engaged for the role of the nurse Kate Wellings in the series in 1984. At that time she just was in London and worked as a wait- ress there. The role of nurse Kate played Lenore Smith until end of the series  1991. Lenore got some prizes, 1987 The Penguin Award for Commendation,   1988 as the best actress and 1990 a Nomination for the Silver Logie Award. She got the Silver Tulip Award into the Netherlands for her role in the series "The Flying Doctors" in 1992. Lenore came to a benefit event in Bielefeld/Germany together with Lewis Fitz-Gerald, the first pilot in the series "The Flying Doctors", in March 1995.

Lenore was married three times. First with Gary Sweet, who could be seen as a guest in the episode "Dad´s little bloke" ("Geheimnis um Mikey") or in the series "Big Sky" and "Police Rescue". According to that the marriage followed with the actor Matt Kay, who played in the episode "Rally to the cause", ("Die London- Sydney Rallye") a guest role too. A partnership without marriage certificate with Christopher Stollery, the last pilot in the series "The Flying Doctors", was of  short duration. In 1997 Lenore ventured the step once again and married the Australian actor Warren Jones on October 19th.

Lenore is like her husband Warren a fan of a good meal and also to cook passionately. She presented a lifestyle show on Australian television over the meal in 1997. She attached special importance to healthy meal and cheeses. In   her leisure time she reads with pleasure, does needlework and sews. She says  that one must often wait at the set and the time whiles her away with embroideries.

A leading part Lenore Smith had 1997 in the series " Spellbinder: Land of the Dragon Lord", which it with Peter O' Brien, the pilot and Emma's husband in the series "The Flying Doctors", as Vicky Morgan, together. The shooting were done in China and lasted for three months.

Lenore was with her husband Warren with the piece "The Perfectionist" in 1998 on theatre tour, why she had the guest role at "All Saints" let buzz. 2001 stood Lenore as Reggie's Mother in several episodes as a reporter in front of the camera of the film "Outriders" and into "The man who sued god" too. Also in the series "Farscape" she had 2002 than a role as Darinta Larell in the episode "Into the lions". 2010 Lenore is again on stage in “Brooklyn Boy” at the Ensemble Theatre in Sydney. 2012 Lenore was on stage in the play "When Dad married Fury". She plays the role of Sue and on her side - as her husband Ian - was her real husband Warren Jones.
