Ich brauche nur zu sagen: “Victor Charlie Charlie ruft Mike Sierra Foxtrot” und jeder weiß wer gemeint ist. Es handelt sich natürlich um Dimitris Aristoteles Goannidis kurz D.J. alias George Kapiniaris.

George wurde am 27. Februar 1961 geboren. Er wollte zuerst in Richtung Radio / Musik Disk Jockey gehen, aber mit seinem Komiker-Talent war er als Schauspieler bestens aufgehoben. Schon bevor 1985 sein Studium am Rusden State College for Drama and Media Studies endete, spielte er in einigen Theaterstücken mit, so in “Caucasian Chalk Circle” und “Seneca’s Oedipus”. Seine Karriere begann als Kabarettist in einer One Man Show. Richtig bekannt wurde  er dann als Mitglied der Komödiengruppe “The Tiboldi Brothers”. Mit dieser Gruppe tourte er durch ganz Australien. Weitere Theaterauftritte waren u .a. “Peace”, “Death to Cabaret”, “Let the blood run free”, “Stronger than Superman”, “Wogs out of work”, “The  last Proxy”, “An evening with Merv Hughes”, “Return to the forbidden planet”. Bei Letzterem handelt es sich um ein Musical. George liebt Musik und Singen und das war eine besondere Rolle für ihn.

Zufälligerweise wurde er 1987 gefragt, ob er in der Serie “Die fliegenden Ärzte” die Rolle des Funkers D.J. übernehmen würde. So wurde sein Schauspieler- Jugendtraum doch noch wahr. Von 1987 bis 1989 war er in dieser Rolle zu sehen. Wer erinnert sich nicht an seine Klatschstunden am Mikrophon, er brachte Stimmung in diese Rolle. Leider hörte er jedoch 1989 mit einem großen Abschied auf und war nur noch zum Ende der Serie  in der Folge “Das Tagebuch” zu sehen.

George hatte von Crawfords 1989 das Angebot einer Hauptrolle in der Serie “Acropolis Now” bekommen. Diese Serie befasste sich mit griechischen Emi- granten und spielte in einem griechischen Restaurant. George bekam auch viele Gastauftritte in Serien, wie 1995 als Gordon Jennings in “Blue Heelers”, “Boys from the bush”, 1999  in “Joey” und “Pigs Breakfast”, wo er den Queegle spielte. Des Weiteren hatte er viele Auftritte in Varietees und Cabarets.

1990 heiratete George Kapiniaris die Make-up Assistentin Peta Hanstings.   Leider hielt diese Ehe nicht lange. Ende April 2004 heiratete Georg Kapiniaris die 28jährige Griechin Fontini. Die Hochzeitsreise ging natürlich nach Griechenland.

Als Schauspieler, Sänger, Musiker, Produzent und Schreiber ist er mit der Band “The Flares” lange unterwegs gewesen. Es gab immer wieder Touren durch Australien, wo George mit dieser Gruppe auch CDs herausbrachte. 2001 stand    er in der Rolle des Con für die TV-Serie “Shock Jock”, einer Comedy, auf der Bühne. Im TV war er 2004 als Mr. Koytis in “Thunderstruck” zu sehen und 2005 als Vito in “Bloody Footy”. 2007 spielte er für 13 Episoden die Rolle des Takis Mavors in der TV-Familienkomödie “Kick”. In der Serie “Underbelly” spielte er 2008 den Rechtsanwalt George Defteros. “Broken Hill” heißt der Film, in dem man George 2009 als Ricardo Romero sehen konnte.

George wurde Ende 2008 Vater eines Sohnes, Peter John.

George Kapiniaris war 2009 erfolgreich als “Rock Star” zu sehen. In 2010 war  er als Theo in “Big Mamma`s Boy” und als Lefteri in “Bad language” zu sehen und da aller guten Dinge drei sind, spielte er den John the Barista in der Komödie “Latte”.

2011 spielte er George in einer Episode der Serie “Housos”.

2015 feierte George sein 30-jähriges Bühnenjubiläum.

I only have to say: "Victor Charlie Charlie calls Mike Sierra Foxtrot" and every- body know who is meant. Yes, of course it is Dimitris Aristoteles Goannidis, D.J. alias George Kapiniaris.

George was born on February 27th, 1961. He wanted to go disk jockey in the direction of the radio/music first but with his comedian talent he was well look- ed as an actor. Before he ended already his studies in 1985 at the Rusden State College for Drama and Media Studies, he played in some theatre-patches like in "Caucasian Chalk Circle" and in "Seneca`s Oedipus". His career started as a revue performer in a One Man Show. He was well known correctly as a member of the farce group "The Tiboldi Brothers". With this group he was on tour through all of Australia. Further theatre entrances were among other things "Peace", "Death to Cabaret", "Let the blood rush free", "Stronger than Superman", "Wogs out of work", "The last Proxy", "An evening with Merv Hughes" and "Return to the forbidden planet" which is a musical. George loves music and singing and   this was a special role for him.

He was asked in 1987 whether he would take the role of the radio operator D.J.  in the series of "Flying Doctors". His actor youthful dream still got that way truly anyway. He could be seen in this role by 1987 to 1989. Who does not remember his gossip hours at the microphone. He suggested atmosphere in this role. Un- fortunately, he stopped, however in a great farewell in 1989 and he only was to see in the episode "The good book" at the end of the series.

George had got the supply of a leading role in the series "Acropolis Now" of Crawfords 1989. This series concerned oneself with Greek emigrants and was  set in a Greek restaurant. George got also many guest roles in series, like 1995   as Gordon Jennings in "Blue Heelers", "Boys from the bush", 1999 in "Joey"    and "Pigs Breakfast" where he played the Queegle. Furthermore he had many entrances in variety entertainments and cabarets.

George Kapiniaris married the make-up assistant Peta Hanstings in 1990. Unfortunately, this marriage did not hold for a long time. George Kapiniaris married the 28-year-old Greek Fontini at the end of April 2004. Of course the honeymoon went to Greece.

As actor, singer, musician, producer and author he has been away with the band "The Flare" for a long time. There were tours of Australia again and again where George also brought out CDs with this group. He was in the role of the  Con for  the TV series "Shock Jock", a comedy, on stage in 2001. In TV he could be seen as Mr. Koytis in "Thunderstruck" in 2004, and 2005 as Vito in "Bloody Footy". He played the role of the Takis Mavors for 13 episodes in the TV family farce "Kick" in 2007. In the series "Underbelly" he played in 2008 the lawyer George Defteros. The film  in which George could be admired as Ricardo Romero in 2009 is called "Broken Hill".

George became 2008 father at the end of 2008, his son called Peter John.

2009 George Kapiniaris was sueccessful in "Rock Star". In 2010 he was also seen as Theo in “Big Mamma`s Boy” and as Lefteri in “Bad language” and all good things come in threes - he played John the Barista in the comedy “Latte”.

2011 he played George in an episode of the serie “Housos”.

2015 George celebrated his 30th anniversary on stage.
