Bruce Barry wurde am 24. Oktober 1934 in Queensland, Australien geboren. Er  war ein viel gefragter Schauspieler.

1961 sah man ihn in der TV-Serie “The Magic of Music”. Später, 1965 als Bruce Barrie in “Funny things happen Down Under”. Auch Bruce hatte 1966 eine Gastrolle  in “Skippy”. 1967 sah man in als Michael Foley in der Serie “Bellbird”. Er hatte einige Gastrollen 1969 in “Riptide” und in “Division 4” war er bis 1976  mehrmals zu sehen. Durch den Tatsachenfilm “Ned Kelly”, in dem er 1970 die Titelrolle “Kelly der Bandit” spielte, wurde er sehr bekannt . 1972 spielte er in “Matlock Police” verschiedene Personenrollen. Im gleichen Jahr folgte die TV-Serie “The Spoiler”. 1973 folgte eine Gastrolle in der Serie “Libido”. Im Film “ABBA - The Movie” von 1977 stellte er den Radiostation-Manager dar. In dem Film “Patrick” von 1978 spielte er die Rolle des Dr. Brian Wright . Bruce war in vielen anderen TV-Rollen zu sehen, wie Captain Douglas Steward in “Skyways”, “Possession”,    in “Ryan” als Bishop, “Cash and Company”.

Und dann kam seine große Zeit als “George Baxter” !! Er wurde gleich zu Beginn der Serie “Die fliegenden Ärzte” 1985 für diese Rolle ausgesucht und spielte diese sporadisch bis zum Ende. Er ging in die Serien-Politik und war als Abgeordneter tätig. Eine kurze Zeit sah es so aus, als ob sich zwischen Baxter und Schwester Kate etwas anbandeln würde. Aber das konnte nicht gut gehen und wir waren wohl alle froh darüber.

1987 war Bruce Barry als Archie in dem Film “The good wife” zu sehen und in einer Folge der Jugendserie “Heartbreak High”. 1993 spielte er in “The Feds: Terror” als Stanley Hickock mit und als Kommissionär Abbott in der TV-Miniserie “Blue Murder” 1995. 1996 stand er in der Gastrolle des Reg Costello in der Serie “Water Rats” vor der Kamera.

In the film "ABBA - The Movie" he represented the radio station manager in1977.  In the film "Patrick" of 1978 he played the part of Dr. Brian Wright. Bruce could be seen in many other TV parts like Captain Douglas Steward in "Skyways", "Possession",   in "Ryan" as Bishop and in "Cash and Company".

And then his great time as "George Baxter" came!! He was 1985 chosen at the beginning of the series of "Flying Doctors" for this part at once and he played sporadically until end. He went in series politics and was working as representative. A short time saw it so as if a little connection became between Baxter and nurse Kate. But this could not turn out all right and all of us were probably pleased with it.

Bruce Barry was 1987 to consider as Archie in the film "The Good wife" and in an episode of the youth series "Heartbreak High". He played in 1993 in "The Feds: Terror" as Stanley Hickock and he was as the commission agent Abbott in the TV small series "Blue Murder" in1995. 1996 Bruce has been in the guest role the Reg Costello in the series "Water Rats" in front of the camera.
