Der Abschied von D.J. bei den fliegenden Ärzten war für die Fangemeinde sehr schmerzlich. Er war so lange das fröhliche Stehaufmännchen beim RFDS gewesen. Jeder Nachfolger würde es sehr schwer haben. Die Nachfolgerin war Beverley  Dunn als Claire Bryant. Sie war total anders als D.J., immer korrekt und pflicht- bewusst, hatte aber ihren ganz eigenen Charme. Mit der Zeit war sie nicht mehr aus der Crew wegzudenken und spielte die Rolle der Claire Bryant bis zum Serienende.

Beverley Dunn ist eine seit über 40 Jahren viel beschäftigte Schauspielerin bei Film, Fernsehen und Theater. Sie lebt in Melbourne, wo sie auch geboren wurde. Beverley hat in den ersten Jahren ihrer Schauspieltätigkeit vor allen Dingen das Theater be- vorzugt. Sie war auch viel mit Hörspielen, Buchlesungen und vielem mehr im Radio zu hören. Zwischen 1952 bis 1970 war sie an den verschiedensten Theatern in Aus- tralien engagiert. So z. B. am Melbourne Theatre Co., South Australian Theatre Company, Tasmanian Theatre Company, St. Martin`s / Melbourne Little Theatre, Alexander Theatre. In England und den USA war sie an Theatern und auf Festivals als Stargast anwesend. Privat liebt Beverley die Gemütlichkeit und kocht gerne für ihre Freunde und ihren Besuch. Sie hat einen großen Garten und sie liebt Blumen  und gärtnern. Alle Pflanzen versorgt sie selbst. Um sich fit zu halten versucht sie so oft es geht zu joggen.

Die erste längere Fernsehrolle war von 1972 bis 1977 die der Mary Emerson in der TV-Serie “Bellbird”. Danach folgte von 1989 - 1991 ihre Rolle als Claire Bryant in der Serie “Die fliegenden Ärzte”.

Seit 1972 ist Beverley regelmäßig in Serien im Fernsehen oder in Fernsehfilmen zu sehen. Hier sind zu erwähnen: “A Country Practice”, “Bligh”, “Cluedo”, “Neighbours”, “Prisoner”, “Carson`s Law”, “The Sullivans”, “Cop Shop”, “Bluey”, “Division 4”, “Adventures of Skippy”, “Halifax f.p.”, “Tribe”. An Filmen drehte sie “The Island of Dr.Moreau” (“Die Insel des Dr. Moreau”), “Ground Zero” (“Kreis der Angst”), “Gross Misconduct” (“Verführt - Schuldig oder nicht schuldig”), “Brilliant lies” (“Netz aus Lügen”), “Shine”, “Two Girls and a Baby”, “The Craic und the thin red line” (“Der schmale Grat”). In der Mini-Serie “Tribe” spielte sie 1999 die Rolle der Sister Margret. Ein Jahr später war sie als Secretary in dem TV- Film “The Dish” zu sehen. Auch in dem großartigen Film “Moulin Rouge” hatte sie eine Rolle, nämlich die eines Requisiteurs.

1956 erhielt Beverley ihren ersten Theaterpreis, den Erik Award, 1993 den Green Room Award. Ebenfalls erhielt sie 2mal den Bathurst Award und den TDK (Radiopreise).

2003 war für Beverley ein Serien-Jahr. In “Welcher & Welcher” sah man sie als Mrs. Cosgrove und in “All Saints” als Sister Roslyn Barry. In “Dogstar” belegte    sie 2007 als Gran eine der Hauptrollen. Sister Carmel war sie 2009 im TV-Film “Saved” und Val im gleichen Jahr in “Charlie & Boots”.

Vor etwa 25 Jahren stand Beverly schon einmal in dem Stück “The Dame on the   Ten Dollar Note” auf der Bühne, um das Leben der Schriftstellerin, Journalistin, Dichterin und Aktivistin Dame Mary Gilmore zu feiern. Für nur 12 Aufführungen will Beverly noch einmal diese ikonische australische Frau portätieren.

Beverley Dunn  spielt 2012 in "Conspiracy 365" in einer Episode die Millicent Ormond.

D.J.`s farewell was very painful for the fan community of The Flying Doctors. He had been the happy mood at the RFDS so long. Every successor would have it very heavily. The successor was Beverley Dunn as Claire Bryant. She was correct extremely differently from D.J., always and had charm quite characteristic of hers conscientiously, however. With the time she was not spirit away from the crew any more and played the role Claire Bryant until series end.

Beverley Dunn is an actress employed much for over 40 years for film, television and theatre. She lives in Melbourne where she also was born. Beverley has prefer- ed the theatre within the first years of her play activity ahead of all things. She also was to hear much with radio plays, book readings and much in the radio more. She was engaged in Australia at all sorts of theatres between 1952 to 1970. At so e.g.  the Melbourne Theatre Co., South Australian Theatre Company, Tasmanian Theatre Company, St. Martin/Melbourne Little Theatre, Alexander Theatre. She was present in England and the USA at theatres and on festivals as a star guest. Privately Beverley loves the cosy atmosphere and cooks with pleasure for her friends and her visit. She has a big garden and she loves flowers and do gardening. She herself provides all plants. Fitly to hold, she temptedly goes so often to jog around herself.

In the mini-series "Tribe" she played   the role of the Sister Margret in 1999. She could be seen as secretary in the TV film "The Dish" a year later. Also in the excellent film "Moulin Rouge" she had a role, namely that one of a properties aurochs.

In 1956 Beverley got her first theatre price, the Erik Award, the Green Room Award 1993. She also got the Bathurst Award and the TDK Radio Prices two times.

2003 was a series year for Beverley. One con- sidered her as Mrs. Cosgrove into "Welcher & Welcher" and into "All Saints" as Sister Roslyn Barry. She covered 2007 as Gran one of the leading roles in "Dog- star". She was Sister Carmel within the TV film "Saved" and in the same year 2009 Val in "Charlie & Boots".

About 25 years ago, Beverly was already in the play "The Dame on the Ten Dollar Note" on the stage to celebrate the life of writer, journalist, poet and activist Dame Mary Gilmore. For 12 performances only, Beverly will once again portray this iconic Australian woman.
